Flagler Dental Associates is hosting their third annual Candy Buy Back program Nov. 1st through 10th to all area trick-or-treaters.

An ongoing tradition to encourage children to take better care of their teeth and trade in the sugary sweets for a dollar per pound, has become staple in Flagler Dental’s mission for better dental hygiene.

“The bacteria in your mouth feeds on sugar which breaks down the tooth enamel that protects your teeth,” said Dr. Ryan Smith. “We want to try to help break the sugar habit in our youngest patients,” he added.

The unopened candy is being collected at both Flagler Dental Associates locations during regular business hours and will be sent overseas to deployed soldiers. All children are welcome to participate.

Our next pageant is scheduled for Saturday November 1st, at 7:00 p.m. at the Flagler County Extension office. This event is a fundraiser for the 4H youth that are showing livestock at the county fair and who participate in the planning of this event. All proceeds go directly to these kids. At this time we do not have enough contestants to have the pageant. This event is good clean fun. it has been organized by Pat Cody in a tasteful manner and is great fun for the family. We had so many laughs last year, it should have been on a comedy show. If you know of any men, young or old alike, that would be willing to put on a dress and outshine the rest, please message me. It's all in fun and for a great cause.

Please note that this is not a 4H event. This event belongs to the fair and the fair reserves to right to distribute funds according to the rules of the event.

So if you know of anyone that is willing to help please call me or Pat at 503-1978. We will be happy to send you the rules and registration information. All that is required is for the contestant to obtain two $25.00 sponsors ($50.00) and to show up according to the dress codes, etc.

I hope I hear from you soon.
